In the summer of 1999, a father — longing for what he left behind — returns with his family to his hometown of Inverness after moving to San Francisco for work. There he re-experiences the charms of his small, close-knit community. In a short period of time, he relives what he’d been missing for the entire time he was away. He knows that he only has a week to make up for the other 51 he’s away for, so he tries his hardest to live in the moment and let all he’s longed for soak in.
LYRICS
JULY
Another Winter by the skin of my teeth
Holding on with the memories I keep
When I get there I promise I’ll try
To do my best not to watch it go by
PRE
Hold me, hold my beating heart while I’m coming alive
Hold me, hold my every breath for a week in July
Chorus
Live a little harder, take in everything that you can
Feel a little deeper, everything will go as you planned
I heard mention that AJ is back
Built his new costume out of latex and tacks
Soaking my bones in the ocean today
Fix me up for 51 weeks away
PRE
Hold me, hold my beating heart while I’m coming alive
Hold me, hold my every breath for a week in July
Chorus
Live a little harder, take in everything that you can
Feel a little deeper, everything will go as you planned
I don’t need a reason, just give me the season and I’ll be there to feel it, live it and believe it
Look into the sky, it’s glowing and alive and everything you missed is right now at your side

Have you heard the news I got Chi Chi to buy us booze
It’s gonna be a party like we’ve never seen before
Meet at “Robin Jones”, bring 10 bucks you’re good to go
We’ll head up to the Red Banks before we hit the dance
Oh Oh oh oh
Pretend you’re a pro, like Mickey Mantle good to go
Even though you’ve never had more than you get at church
Everyone you know is gonna be there, gonna show
You gotta prove to them that you’re worthy of their nods
Oh oh Oh OH
Chorus
Put your hands up party like it’s 1999
Let it be the best thing that you’ve felt in the past while
Everything you’d ever want is right in front of you
Nothing gonna change you and nothing you can’t do
In ninety nine
Nineteen ninety nine

This will be the summer that you find the perfect lover
Cashing in your smile while your heart is making bank
Take a look around, soak it in and feel the sounds
You’ll wanna hold this memory when you’re old and looking back

The Walk

I’ve been waiting for tonight since I heard the news
Summer Dance, one more chance, no way I can lose
When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive
Something in the night is telling me it’s gonna be
Everything I want and everything I need
When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive
________________________________________
Take another drink and I feel my body grow
Above the trees, above the hills, ain’t nothin’ I don’t know
When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive
Every little part of me feels like a king
Walk the walk, talk the talk, feel all that it brings
When I get goin’… I’ll tell you what it’s like to be alive

Queen

I felt it in my bones when I woke today
I was gonna start doing what I say
Tell me what you want and I’ll tell you what I’ll do about it
I can make it good, better than you ever dreamed about
_____________________________________________________
Tell me what you want and I’ll tell you what I’ll do about it
I can make it good, make it feel right

Sun was going down, so was Tropikiwi with it
Then you turned around, must have been here for a summer visit
PRE
I can make you feel like a queen
CHORUS
I know I won’t leave here alone - No he won’t leave here alone
Pay the cover charge, walk in like your Michael Jackson
Take a look around, and there she is like fire
Tell me what you want - I got it
Tell me what you need - I’ll be it (I’m it)
Straight from my heart I’ve missed you
Even though I’ve only Kissed you
Straight from my heart I’ve known It
Even though I’ve just been shown it
Tick tock my search is over I can feel my blood exploding
Tick tock my fire’s burning I can feel my world turning
BRIDGE
I like the way it makes me feel - when everything I need is falling into place
I like the way it makes me feel - when everything I need is written on my face

Tell me what you wanna feel
I will give you more
Tell me where you wanna be
I will open doors
PRE
Where will we hide when the moon and the dark goes
No matter where where, it’ll be ‘cause the heart knows
Tell me what you wanna feel
I will show you all
That you ever wanted girl
This could never fall
CHORUS
We got all that we could ever need
Write it on our face and wear it on our sleeve
Everything is better with you here
Never gonna end and never gonna veer
__________________________________________
And if it all gets heavy I promise that I’ll be
A rock when you need me, a boat in the sea
And when all the others are bending at the knees
I give you my word that you always got me
I will be a cannon ball
You can be the fuse
Light me with your fire now
Forever you’re my muse

Egypt Falls
02:59
|
|||
My heart is overflowing
Like Egypt Falls
I’ve only been here for a week but
I can feel the call
The world lit up like fire
And I felt alive
Your eyes were glowing with the sky
and I knew you were mine
What I’ve found out since I’ve come
The world is more
My blood is San Francisco
My heart is the shore
Bridge
Like a fire you can move but you can’t hold a candle if you never wanna hold still

White Knuckled
03:24
|
|||
I didn’t see it coming, no I didn’t see the day
That I found what I was looking for in every single way
Now you’re back in San Francisco, and my head is in the clouds
And I’m thinking ‘bout you every moment wishing you’re around
Tell me what it’s like there, does it snow or does it rain?
I’ve got a thousand things I’m feeling and half of them are pain
Another thousand different things that I would like to say to you
Half of them I shouldn’t mouth but all of them are true
Tell me can I reach you, can I call or can I write?
Can I tell you what it’s like here when summer loses light
And the waves start getting bigger and leaves are coming down
And there’s nothing but your thoughts in an empty dying town
Chorus
When will you be back in my world?
I can’t go on alone
I wanna tell you everything, I wanna let you know
That I thought about you every moment, since you had to go
And I’m not a man of may words but I would memorize
The Oxford English Dictionary just to see your eyes
Deep inside my mind I’ve locked every memory
Feels like a lifetime of complimentary scenes
And I’ll hold on to them white knuckled so I know they’ll never leave
And dream about the time when you’re back in town with me
Winter’s getting closer, I can feel it in the air
And it’s not the place you’d recognize from the two weeks that you’re here
If I feel this way at Christmas I don’t know what I’ll do,
But I know it would be anything if that meant seeing you

Bruce Lee
04:12
|
|||
I’m guessing that it’s over based upon the notion that I haven’t heard a word at all
And I’m starting to see that all that I believed was destined from the start to fall
I guess I should have known that one week in the summer was only that and nothing more
But when you’re trying to forget it builds up your regrets and you feel it in your deepest core
I know the old saying that I should be happy to have felt it than to not at all
So I think about the week I feel into my dream and the hurting takes a moment to stall
CHORUS
Does it get cold there?
I heard there’s no snow there
Do you feel bold there
All alone
I guess I’ll grow old here
Work on my soul here
Build my own home here
On my own
I feel it in my body like I did karate and I took a few hits from Bruce Lee
But I know that it will pass and I will make it back to being mostly me
Trying to believe in everything I see is like running through a giant brick wall
I put my head down and don’t make a sound If I push it I know it will fall
